Prayer Topic: Physical Healing
Spiritual warfare is the battle between humankind and the evil, dark realm governed by the enemy. While we do not need to fear the enemy because God’s power is greater, it is important that we are aware of and on guard against the battle we face. We are in a state of constant battle against dark forces that disrupts and interrupts our relationships with others and with God. Because this battle is spiritual, it requires invisible weapons that we have at our disposal: faith, prayer, and The Word. Sometimes, believers in their curiosity or compromised faith open the door for demonic attacks through psychics, witchcraft, horoscopes, Ouija boards, either through seeking these unclean things directly or receiving them indirectly through exposure to dark content or experiences. Some may experience demonic attacks in their dreams. Other battles, while serious and entangling, are not as dark. These are battles believers struggle with internally, such as addiction or sexual sin. The good news is that Jesus completed work on the cross makes complete forgiveness and cleansing possible.
A Cleansing Prayer:
Dear Jesus, with my head bowed low and my heart wide open, I confess my sins and all my wrongdoing today. I plead with you to forgive me of my intentional and unintentional sin. With your blood, you have made me white as snow. Create in me a clean heart. Free me from the enemy that torments me day and night. You are my hiding place, my refuge, my help during time of trouble. Each day, dress me with the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, gird my waist with your truth, and my feet with peace. I declare and decree this day that the Devil is liar and has no room in my life. In your precious name, Amen.
Possible Things to Pray for:
• Provide wisdom and discernment so as not to be caught off guard by the enemy’s tricks.
• Wear the armor of God to protect minds and hearts.
• Give courage and strength to stand firm.
• As we look to our Supreme Commander and Protector, help us to remain in His presence and aligned with His perfect will.
• Look to our Comforter and Advocate the Holy Spirit who will speak on our behalf.
• Give words and bravery to use of Jesus-given authority to bind and rebuke evil spirits.
• Show wisdom to cleanse our spaces of any connection with darkness.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NIV - For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
James 4:7 NIV - Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Deuteronomy 28:7 NIV - The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
1 Peter 5:8 NIV - Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:13-18 NIV - Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
